The annual Fairbanks Hat Tournament

Each year our friends to the north host a hat tournament in Fairbanks, Alaska the first weekend of June. This summer, Transfer Site Treasures Hat Tournament (formerly known as Sombrero) will take place on June 1-2, 2024. This tournament is a great opportunity to play ultimate with our friends from all over the state and ring in a new summer of ultimate! Check out their Facebook page for more details.

TST is played 6 v. 6 (4 men, 2 women). The tourney sees a wide array of players, from those who have played in a plethora of ultimate tournaments to first time players. A modest entry fee (usually $50-$60) covers two days of ultimate, camping, field food, beverage(s), dinner on Saturday night, and post-dinner festivities.

Getting There: Some Anchorage players elect to drive to Fairbanks, while others elect to fly. For those who wish to drive, carpools are typically coordinated using the the Anchorage Facebook page in late May/early June. If you want help finding a ride to Sombrero, email alaskaultimate@gmail.com
